Hi, I'm Katie (she/they) and I'm a licensed psychotherapist.
My approach is tailored to each individual, and often draws on Internal Family Systems, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, and somatic approaches to connecting the mind and body. Whether you are working to heal your relationship with food, process grief, or navigate a life transition, I believe therapy is a critical part of creating a system of support during times of intensity or distress. I work with clients to create an affirming, warm, curious, and liberatory environment to explore vulnerable issues.
I'm passionate about working with folks who are queer, trans, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent, disabled, and who face challenges and systemic oppression because of their identities.
I have specialized training in perinatal mental health, along with perinatal grief and loss. I strongly believe in supporting parents in building and growing strong connections with their kiddos, and I believe our relationships with our bodies and with eating is one significant part of building or repairing that strong connection.
I previously spent 12 years working as a nonprofit consultant, leading systems change and equity work in local criminal justice systems across the country. Because of this background, I also work to help clients connect their personal struggles with the larger systems at play in our society and our daily lives.
I am a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker and New Jersey Licensed Social Worker. I graduated from Washington University-St. Louis with a dual MSW and JD. I'm also a certified Good Inside Parent Coach, and enjoy working with parents to de-shame the challenges of modern parenthood.
